On Friday the 25th of March 2022, the Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School held it’s First Annual Inter-House Sport Meet at the Bawbaw Community field in River # 2 Village.
The program started with a match pass from the school to the sport ground.
Rev. Fr. Peter Konteh, Executive Director of Caritas Freetown who also doubles as the President of Desert Flower Africa and Proprietor of the School; addressed all pupils, Teachers and parents present during his keynote address. Adding that, the sport is an extra curriculum activity that brings the balance in education. He also encouraged the sport committee members to have a free and fair inter- house sport meet with no violence but fun.
He presented cash financial support to the said categories of winner’s as listed below: 1st Position, 2nd Position, 3rd Position and 4th Position respectively.

The sport committee renamed the house colours with benefactors or donors of the Desert Flower Foundation in appreciation to their tremendous support towards the school and the Number 2 community at large.

Orange House is Waris Dirie House, Blue House is River No. 2 House, Mauve House is Rev. Fr. Peter Konteh House and Yellow is Kiera Chaplin House.

And for the First Annual Inter-house Sport Meet of the Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School, Rev. Fr. Peter Konteh House which is Mauve, took the First Position.

There was so much excitement on the faces of both parents and pupils because this was their first annual Inter- house sport meet, since the establishment of the school in September in the year 2019.

After a healthy competition, the sport ended with the African King and Queen of the year competition were parents showed loved to their children as they showcase their African culture. Since it’s a fundraising activity, the contestant with the highest amount of cash won the contest.
