Schools are one of the most important institutions in any community, so it’s only right to think about ways of keeping them safe. Teachers, Parents, Pupils and the Community as a whole would benefit immensely from schools which have a good level of security.
Keeping such an institution safe along with the Teachers, Staff and Pupils in a Conducive atmosphere is of the utmost relevance, not only because of the value of education and human life, but also promotes a Conducive learning environment for the pupils as well as the Teachers. It’s also helps to reduce stress of the Teachers, Pupils and parents and boosts a more positive mindset among everyone. Additionally, having a fenced school compound reduce the chances of outsiders entering the school premises and properly monitor the activity of the children (who, when or why they leave the school premise).
With this awareness, on the 7th of November 2020, the management of Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School started the fencing project that will help to protect the pupils and staff of the School from distractions and ensure safety in the school. The support is from the Desert Flower Staff and Volunteers, Teachers of Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School, Parents of the pupils and Desert Flower Africa Board Members through the President of Desert Flower Foundation Africa – Rev. Fr. Peter A. Konteh who coordinate the affairs of DFA and works closely with the School Manager and School Management Committee [SMC] by providing a standard educational environment for the in-school pupils of the Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School, Number 2 River Community and its environs.
They believe that a positive school atmosphere encourages Pupils attendance, a factor that will help cure many school woes. We believe that good health and good learning environment goes hand in hand.
