On March 2nd 2020, the Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School Welcomed ST. JOHN PAUL II, at the school compound, Number 2 River, Peninsula Road, Western Rural District. The purpose of the visit was to provide Lunch for all the pupils and staff of Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School. On arrival in the school compound, they were gladly welcomed by the Administration, Pupils, teaching and non- teaching staff of the Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School, River Number 2. Outdoor activities were organised for the pupils, such as the introduction of the members of the visiting team by Mr. Joseph Kamara (tutor Kiera Chaplin Vocational Institute River Number 2), action songs and Musical Performance by Wilowise, brief background of ST.JOHN PAUL II, statement from various speakers including Dr. Terry Rees Supreme Architect (SA) order of ST.JOHN PAUL II, welcomed and thanked the administration for the construction of the school. He further explains that, ST. JOHN PAUL II will continue to give their support, and will Construct a Borehole that will be supplying Safe drinking water for the home, management and pupils in the school. In a similar vein, the Project Coordinator for Desert Flower Foundation/Kiera Chaplin Desert flower school Mr. Michael Sam addressed members of ST. JOHN PAUL II and all those present at the program to continue to give their support for a better environment for all the children in the school. He also informed members and staff about the concerted effort Kiera Chaplin Desert Flower School is making to improve the standard of the school.
A vote of thanks was given by a pupil of the school, Williminah Johnson, on behalf of the school with a closing Prayer by Dr.Terry Rees, followed by distribution of Food to all the pupils and staff of the school, while the visitors left for their destination, the pupils and staff of the school also left for their respective homes.
