Emma S. Fahnbulleh and Saudatu Fofanah who happens to be our pilot beneficiaries in Bo and Newton Community respectively took the first position in their schools for the just concluded National Primary School Examination. Emma who is 11 years old attending the St. Jude Model Academy scored an aggregate of 331 and Saudatu Fofanah who is 12 years old, attending the St. Francis Primary School Newton, scored an aggregate of 293Emma hales from a family of five (5) girls and she is the third child to her parents. Her parents are both Teachers. Their father abandoned them when their mother gave birth to a girl for the fifth time. According to information, the Father was in desperate need of a Son; hence, the reason for giving birth to that number of children in the first instance. As a result, the mother has been a single parent raising these girls all by herself until now. Since she is a Teacher and believes so much in education, she affirmed in an interview that all of her children are presently going to school with the eldest in Senior Secondary school. She extended special gratitude to the Desert Flower Foundation for their immense support to her family. She went further to say that her daughters success is born out of the sponsorship they received from Desert Flower Foundation. Four of her girls have been beneficiaries of the DFF since the inception of the project in Sierra Leone in 2014.

Similarly, Saudatu Fofanah is the first child to her parents. Born on the fifth of October 2008. She has one sibling and presently living with her grandmother at Newton. Saudatu and her grandma are very happy about her achievement and they expressed gratitude to the Desert Flower Foundation for their wonderful support towards her schooling. She went further to say that her motivation was born out of the monthly support she gets from her sponsors. Her grandmother expressed that she has never seen an organization as committed as the Desert Flower Foundation in supporting girls in Sierra Leone.
