In other to begin the 2020-2021 academic school year, Desert Flower Foundation Sierra Leone disbursed school support to pupils in various schools across the country from 2nd November 2020 to 6th of November 2020. The fund is meant to support the educational aspect of our beneficiaries that are eligible and signed the sponsorship contract with Desert Flower Foundation. The parents are expected to pay the school charges of our beneficiaries, buy books, school uniforms, shoes and any additional charges that may relate to their academic pursuit. The Desert Flower beneficiaries in Sierra Leone benefited from the school Support.
Desert Flower Fundation believes that it is only through education that we all can eradicate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). As a results, the Foundation is using Education and the sponsorship drive to fight FGM. If the girls are informed they will educate their peers of the pros and cons of FGM before their 18 years birthday. Desert Flower Foundation Sierra Leone has over 1076 sponsored girls across the country.
